Object Selection
- For both the Parent Relationship and the Related Records option, you have to select the object of choice in the first step.
- After selecting the object and clicking Next, you define your filter conditions.
- This step creates a new node on the audience canvas.
Parent Relationship:
- What is the parent object of my selected object that it refers to?
- For example, starting from the Contact node, I want to access the primary Account (to filter only Accounts of Type = Customer), so I select the Account option.
Related Records:
- Which segmentation-relevant records are related to my selected object?
- For example, starting from the Account node, I want to access Opportunities (Stage = Closed Won, Closed = This Year), so I select the Opportunity option.
Default Selection:
- Once you start using Campaign Audience Builder, the system will default the initial selection to the most used object to help you avoid clicks.
- To select another object, you can click the object option of choice.
Object Search:
- If the list of objects is too large and you want to find the relevant object quickly, you can use the object search.
- Remove the selected object by clicking the x at the right and then enter your search term.
- The available objects are filtered in real-time.
Object Categories:
The object selection screen is organized into up to three categories:
- Most Used - The objects used most in Campaign Audience Builder in your Salesforce Org.
- Standard - All Standard Objects.
- Custom - All Custom and Managed Package Objects.
If there are no Custom Objects to reference, the Custom category won't show.
Show More / Less:
- If there are more than 10 objects available in a category, you can click the + Show More button to load all options and - Show Less to reduce it again.
- Alternatively, it's easier in most cases to use the object search.
